New group – looking for members

We have been asked to provide details of a proposed new group looking to form at Glasgow Airport.

There are 2 committed to purchasing a 2 seat aircraft; possibly a Tecnam. They are open to suggestions and will consider a 4 seat aircraft if preferred. Funds are already in place (UP TO £50k) but there is an understanding the group needs to have between 6 and 10 people to be viable.

The aim of the group is to have an aircraft available for extended use while keeping costs to a minimum.

If you have an interest please use our enquiry form quoting this post.

Looking forward to 2022

After our first year of welcoming GA visitors to Glasgow International Airport, we are looking forward to 2022.

We hope to see an increase in the number of new visitors. This will obviously be affected by any new Covid restrictions.

There has been a wide range of visitors and the feedback has been extremely positive. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

With increasing fuel prices and airport charges, we have revised the pricing for visitors. The new prices still offer excellent value for pilots looking to use the facility.

Do you know you can base your aircraft at Glasgow for as little as £99.00 + VAT? If you would like to find out more simply email info@left.aero for further details.

We hope you have a happy and prosperous 2022!

Freedom Aviation

Welcome to Freedom Aviation

Glasgow Flight Centre was delighted to support 5 visiting Piper PA28’s from Freedom Aviation.

4 of the the 5 aircraft were captures by one of the members of Glasgow Airport Spotters Group. G-CLEA was the 5th one which managed to slip in unnoticed!

The group of aspiring commercial pilots arrived on their last leg before flying home to the south. It was a quick comfort break and refuel for the visitors. For us, it was the first ‘real’ visitors making use of the new services at Glasgow Airport.

The aircraft were booked in using our PPR form the day before. The process was trouble free and the airport were aware of the visit beforehand.

While there were no real issues, we identified a few areas for improvement. The main one being to ensure pilot wear a yellow jacket when they are out of the aircraft.

We look forward to welcoming more as the restrictions are relaxed in the coming weeks.

Glasgow welcomes GA

Glasgow Airport already has a small number of light aircraft based at the flying school. However, it has not been an attractive option for visitors from other flying schools and clubs.

The busy FBO’s provide excellent facilities for corporate and executive aircraft. However, this level of service is not required by the average private flyer and until now there has be no other option..

Glasgow Flight Centre can provide the services needed for visiting non-commercial light aircraft (<2T MTOW) at our club facilities. This makes Glasgow the ideal location in the West of Scotland for visitors.
